Environment Network goes out on the streets for Climate Week

March 12-18 is Climate Week, when businesses, schools, community organisations, councils and many others across the country will be organising around 3,000 events to promote environmental activities and awareness.

Locally the East Hampshire Environment Network will be out and about at Petersfield and Alton Markets and at Morrisons Horndean. They will be informing people about the many environmental groups that are active in the area and the opportunities to get involved. They will also be conducting a survey about local attitudes to climate and environmental issues.

"There are greening campaigns, community farming projects, energy saving campaigns, conservation groups and many others that are helping to make a difference here and now and are laying the foundations for a more sustainable future," said former district councillor Elizabeth Cartwright, who plays a leading role in the network
"The Environment Network's aim is to connect the groups and promote greater involvement in them."

Events:

Tuesday 13th March - 10am -2pm  Alton Market

Thursday 15th March- 10am -2pm  Morrisons Horndean

Saturday 17th March  10am -2pm  Petersfield Market

On Sunday 18 March, there will also be an open house event to demonstrate the many energy saving measures that EHEN Director, Paul Ciniglio, has taken to save energy at his home on the outskirts of Petersfield.

More information about this is available on the website www.easthampshire-environment.net.

The network is very keen to hear about other group's and organisations activities so that they can be promoted
