This page contains the policies for posting material on the Clanfield and Chalton website.
General Rules

The site has been provided as an information resource for Clanfield and Chalton villages. It is operated and administrated on behalf of Clanfield and Chalton Parish Council. The decision of the appointed administrators in any matter will be final.

The site is intended as a local news and information resource. Other than as explicitly allowed below, no commercial or business purpose is not allowed on or through the site.

All material posted must include the name of the originator. The address of the originator must be known to the website administrators (e.g. through the registration pages) but need not be included in the posting itself.

You may not post any material that is offensive to any person, group or organisation. Any material that is found to be offensive will be withdrawn. The person posting that material may be barred from further postings for an unspecified period.

Material may be posted onto the site by registered users. Registration is through electronic sign-up on the home page. At the discretion of the administrators, material may be subject to an approval process.

The administrators reserve the right to edit, amend or remove any material that does not comply with these policies.
Local Organisations

Local clubs and organisations operating within a 5 mile radius of Clanfield and Chalton may advertise their presence and activities on the site.

These organisations may post material onto the site under the "Local Organisations" section. Events may also be added to the "event" calendar. All postings must comply with the policies defined here.

Where possible, a single point of contact for each organisation is requested.
Classified Section
The classified section is provided for people local to the village to make announcements, and to buy and sell personal property. Postings may be made onto this site as long as the following conditions are observed.

This section may not be used for any commercial purpose. Any postings that are found to be of a commercial nature will be removed.

Any items offered for sale must be the property of the person offering them for sale.

Postings will be accepted for up to a 4 week period. Postings may be renewed after that period for one further 4 week period.

The name and address of the person making the posting must be provided.
Businesses
Local businesses, within a 15 minute cycle ride from Clanfield, may post one simple article on the site. This is intended for that business to advertise their presence in the locality, and to provide a link to contact details (e.g. email, website or phone number). This facility is intended for organisations local to Clanfield and will not be extended to large national chains.
